Being Trauma-Informed in facilitation of floor-based yoga styles – what does this really mean and how can we offer this?

Music & Sound
Using trauma informed recorded music and sound healing instruments. Overview of sound healing and its history. What are the effects, benefits and contraindications?
Creating Asana Sequences
Using themes – chakra theory/TCM/Elements/Seasons – incorporating music and sound with intention.
Participation in Yin + Sound class
Weekend Two
Saturday 24th August 10am-4pm
The Limbs of Yoga
Weaving the Eight Limbs of Yoga through the class experience. How can we facilitate yoga philosophy in a practical way for all participants?
The Nervous System
Understanding the nervous system and how it can respond to pranayama, somatic and polyvagal exercises, and specific sound frequencies, intervals and the voice.
Sunday 25th August 10:30-4:30pm
Creating & ExperimentingÂ
Themes, Asana sequences, trauma-informed language and cues, playing instruments – tips and techniques for various sound healing instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, drums, nature sounds, chimes etc.
AssessmentÂ
Creating and presenting a short sequence exhibiting a chosen theme, incorporating Pranayama, Asana, music and sound meditation.
