My relationship with Vinyasa began on a more surface level. As a newer teacher I understood a Vinyasa encompassed dynamic practice, however I lacked confidence and understanding in conveying why or how students could integrate the practice into their daily life. I was always spending time illustrating different class plans and sequences in an artistic manner. I would research and peruse the teachings to cultivate meaning to share with students.Ā
Overtime, through deepening a relationship with my teacher and with Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga, my discernment grew and the teachings began to absorb into the very tissue of my being. This never stops as a student of yoga. But what developed more and more was the domino effects this was having on the students who attended my classes. Regardless of the "level" of practice, we were all learning and deepening together with every class, inclusive of everyone and their journey.Ā
It is unique to be able to teach the beginner in the room, as well as the more experienced - and to teach with the confidence to not know everything, openly! Aside from fun sequencing - THIS is what I hope to teach teachers enrolling into this course.Ā
I will forever be a student, but I find joy and a sense of home in teaching Vinyasa and Yin style yoga, with detail and some humour. Alongside regular classes, teacher training and events - I enjoy sharing workshops on yoga alignment, Asana progression and really any topics requested by my students! I offer my students a very open and honest space to be vulnerable and curious with the belief that discernment is powerful!
I am obsessed with teaching yoga to those who yearn to listen! I look forward to immersing with you.
